Hidden Beauty, India 1989

Lepers were in plenty in Varanasi on my way walking down to the Holy Ghats every day,( Ghats are the riverfront steps leading directly to the banks of the sacred Ganges).

Because of the caste system, if you are born disabled in India, you did something in your previous life. It has to do with your karma. if you are born with a disability you end fending for yourself from a very young age as society and Families tends to discard disabled people.
